Book Reviews with Content Considerations

The Ransom Trilogy by C.S. Lewis

Out Of The Silent Planet. This very strange tale that begins in the most ordinary of places while our main character, Ransom, is doing a walking tour. Through a series of strange events and against his will Ransom is taken by two colleagues on a spaceship and leaves planet earth to end up on the silent planet and encounters strange creatures and even stranger ideas that show Ransom how strange and bent we as humans are. Ransom ends up having to encounter that which he originally ran away from and it culminate in a meeting between the humans and the creature that stewards the planet they are on which ends up with them being sent back home on their original ship the return trip is more perilous and may cost Ransom his very life.

Content Considerations: *It is implied by one of the characters that they can do whatever they like with the natives they find on the planet including to sleep with them it is a brief mention and spoken by one of the villian’s of the books. * There is a scene where the villain’s attempt to abduct a young boy and reason that he can be treated in such a way because of his disabilities *There is voilence in the fact that Ransom is dealing with bad men who wish to harm him and anyone else who gets in the way and they do indeed end up killing *Best for an older teen or adult not one of Lewis’s children stories
